Look what I can make!!!

So we all remember Junior High and going to home ed. We got to make a bag with the word esprit on it and we thought that we were the coolest people ever! We also made a shirt. And in High school we made a dress and yes I was the geek that actually wore mine to a school dance. What was I thinking? Not sure but I thought that I had done a great job and I was proud of myself. That was then and this is now. WHat the!!!! Anyway Shawnee came home yesterday and was all excited about learning how to use a sewing machine. She asked if she could make something. Yeah sure what will it hurt. She got it all cut out

and put the wrong sides together and started sewing. A minute goes by and she says to me "Do you have to like tie a knot in the thread so it doesn't come undone." I said no that is what the back stitch button is for. Oh OK. She is just a stitching away and then I here. "Mom come fix this" What now. She had sewed all the sides together not leaving an opening. I was laughing so hard!!! Because not two mintues ago she is telling me this is going to be the top of my bag. She must have gotten so excited to be almost done that she forgot what she was doing. I then showed her what a seam riper was. She got it all undone and moved on to her straps. She did a good job considering she just learned yesterday. She needs a little more sewing 101. But for her first attempt I will give her a 10 for effort.

Noooo, your not small for your age.

Today I took Ty for his two year Dr. appointment. He only weights in at a whooping 23.8 pounds. Height is 32.5 inches tall. He is in the 5 percentile for his age. But we are not worried cause this is how he has been since he was born. Yes I know that he is still wearing his 18 month clothes. His little legs would drowned in a 24 month or a 2T. So needless to say we are getting our money's worth with this kid, at least on his clothes. He is the cutest kid. In every
picture he always has a smile on his face. He is a very active child. He is running around the house 24/7. He is a good little eater, he likes everything you give him. Wow a kid that likes fruit and veggies and will ask for more. What more can I ask for in a kid. We wouldn't trade him in for anything. He is going to be a singer and a dancer. He know all the songs off of the kids ipods and will sing when he hears it on the radio. Now for his dancing this kid has rhythm!!! He makes us laugh every time he starts to dance. I expect him to be the shortest kid in his class and that is just fine by me. He brings a special mood into our house. With out him it would be pretty boring around here!!!!

Cabin Fever

So once again we head down to the cabin for the three day weekend. We took along some friends of ours. We had a great time. Kids running all over the place, kids whining, kids fighting, kids getting along and kids saying I am bored. We went sledding again and the run was the pits. The snow was powder so we did what we could do and hope for the best. It was warm so that made for a great sledding hill again. We had one accident though. Shawnee, Janee, Autymm and Cortlyn where all on a green toboggan. Now mind you the run was fast and to go down on a toboggan it was even faster. There is one curve that always gets everyone. If you are not careful you end up flying off the run in to the trees. Well the girls were off we head down the hill to find Shawnee crying. She was still sitting on the toboggan and at the curve. I ask what is wrong she said she hurt her knee. It got pulled under the toboggan while trying to go around the curve. She is fine just twisted it a little bit. But no rest for the weary. The kids sled all day pretty much. The adults played games and ate. We did have one miss hap. Ty fell off the bench and bit his tongue. No pictures I forgot my camera. We thought for a minute that he bit all the way through it. It was bleeding bad. So we got that all taken care of. He lay ed down for bed and the rest of us played murder in the dark. The kids loved it. After a while I could hear Ty. He was not happy. He would not stop crying and he wouldn't drink anything or even swallow. It was so sad. You felt bad for him. We finally at midnight hopped on the snowmobile to see if that would calm him down. Now it was at least below freezing and I just wrapped Ty in a couple of blankets and set him in between me and Brad. We went slow and the ride helped. He stopped crying and I think he even fell a sleep but it was to dark to see. We headed back to the cabin and found he was wide awake. I didn't care as long as he was not crying. So I sat and rocked him on the snowmobile to see if he would go to sleep he did so we headed inside. I was getting a little cold. He woke up as soon as we opened the door. So me and Ty sat and watched The Incredible tell two in the morning. I had to keep rewinding it to the beginning or he would start to cry again. Finally he fell asleep. He was back up at five crying so I lay ed him in bed with me and he fell back asleep. He would say to us "tongue hurt" But that next day it was better and he could eat. Thank goodness. All in all we had a great time. The weather was beautiful no smog. And the company was great.

CaBiN FuN

So I am finally going to try to get catch back up with this blog. We headed to the cabin for the rest of the Christmas break and Ty's 2nd birthday. There was only a foot of snow. We none the less brought the snowmobiles and we are so glad that we did. Cause if we didn't we would have been too tired to keep walking up the sledding hill. That is pretty much all we did for a week. We never got tired of it. We first started a sledding hill right off the side of the cabin. The kids were loving it but kept running into the trees. It was a little tricky getting down the hill without running a tree over so we gave up on that. While the kids were sledding down the hill Brad would hop on the snowmobile and ride down the road to pick them up and bring then back up the hill to start again. Well that helped start a new run down

the road which started right off the driveway. So the kids started smoothing that one out. There were no trees to run into but there were a few times that if you started right in the driveway you would end up in a tree. The weather was great. The sun would come out and warm you up but made for a pretty bad run after a little while. But by morning the SlEdDiNg was AWESOME. The ground had frozen over night and made the run FaSt. We had a couple of saucers that you can see Brad and Ty and Hayden are on

they were the fastest and if you weren't careful you could start your own sledding run. Those things hauled butt. By the end of the week Hayden's gloves were ruined from him putting his hands down and trying to stear and slow himself down that he put a hole in one of his gloves. It was icy and fast. We invited our friends up for a couple of days. We had a blast. I think the best part of sledding was the kids getting in the big sled pulled by the snowmobile. They would put their sleds under them and hold on for dear life to the big sled while they were being pulled back up the hill. Ty even got into it. He loved sledding down the hill but as you can see from the picture he enjoyed the ride back up. He was a good trooper. He stayed out as long as the big kids did. He was LoViNg it!!! Cortlyn I think was the champ at

sledding. She had no fear what so ever. Her snow suit was soaking wet, her
nose and cheeks red and she was bound and determained to stay and sled some more. She tryed every sled we had. The one that she is one was one that Drew and Teisha brought up. That thing could GO! They were zooming right past me laughing. I think we spent more time outside in the snow then we did in the cabin. We did play games and celebrate Ty's birthday and the New Year. Ty was a trooper there too. He stayed up to watch the ball drop. At the age of 2 I don't think that any of my kids stayed up that late ever. We had so much fun that we are planning on going as much as we can this winter before the snow melts. Here's to family, good friends and great memories.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Just wanted to wish my sweet boy TY a happy 2nd Birthday. He had a wonderful day. We spent his birthday at the cabin. SLedding and riding snowmobiles. How appropriate since that is where we first got the call that we were going to get him. He is such a joy to have in our lives. I wouldn't want it any other way. We love you Monkey.

To Noah I want to wish him a happy 10th birthday. Hope your day was great. We love and miss you.
